ORLANDO, Fla. — Disney is dropping Michael Jackson’s 3-D spectacular at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center.
But officials said the decision had nothing to do with allegations that the performer sexually molested a teenage boy.
“We have to keep offering something new,” said David Herbst, a Disney spokesman. “We may have gotten some complaints. But that’s not why we’re replacing the film.”
The show will continue at Disneyland and at the Disney park in Tokyo, Disney spokeswoman Pam Brandon said Friday.
Capt. EO will be replaced this fall at Epcot by “Honey I Shrunk the Audience.”
