Tony Bennett may have left his heart in San Francisco in 1962, but the National Assn. of Recording Merchandisers has invited him back to retrieve it, tapping the silky crooner to perform at its 36th annual convention.
Bennett will hit the boards with renowned jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard March 20 at the org’s Scholarship Foundation Dinner, which selects students to receive financial assistance for their education.
Bennett is up for a Grammy for best traditional pop vocal and will be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame this year.
The NARM convention runs March 19-22 at the San Francisco Marriott.
