It will be a Lollapalooza ’93 reunion of sorts at the Hollywood Palladium tonight, as most of the rock bands from last summer’s alternative fest tour assemble for a benefit show for the Norwood Fisher Defense Fund.Fisher, the bass player for L.A. funk-rock band Fishbone, was arrested last summer and charged with, among other things, kidnapping former bandmate Kendall Rey Jones from what band members considered a religious cult. Fisher was acquitted of all charges but must now pay what his Columbia Records publicist calls “big legal fees.” Joining Fishbone at the 7 p.m. show will be Alice in Chains, which is expected to preview material from its forthcoming Columbia acoustic EP, “Jar of Flies”; Porno for Pyros, the Warner Bros. band led by Lollapalooza co-organizer Perry Farrell; Bay Area rock/fusion trio Primus (Interscope); Zoo Entertainment buzz band Tool; and new funk act Weapon of Choice and solo artist Jeffrey Connor. Most of the evening’s artists are expected to join Fishbone on stage for the show’s encore. With tickets for the sold-out, five-hour show priced at $ 26.50, organizers hope to raise close to $ 100,000.
