Dan Wolf has been upped to the newly created slot of VP, special projects for Walt Disney Pictures and Television, the studio announced Friday.In his new position, Wolf will oversee internal communicationsat the studio, as well as the planning and execution of special events. He will continue to report directly to studio chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg and prexy Richard Frank. Recently, Wolf helped produce the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Superhighway Summit, which was keynoted by VP Al Gore and attended by industry bigwigs and hardware honchos. “For nearly five years, Dan has brought a remarkable level of energy, creativity and innovation to a wide variety of assignments at our company,” Katzenberg said in a statement. “He has proven himself to be an extremely versatile executive and a valuable member of our team.” Added Frank in a release, “As an extremely talented writer, Dan has shaped a number of important internal and external presentations. His ability to orchestrate major events, supervising their physical organization and providing significant guidance for their content, has proven invaluable for our studio.” Wolf came to Disney in 1989 as manager of public affairs for the corporate communications arm of the Walt Disney Co. He was upped to public affairs director and later, to special projects director for Walt Disney Pictures and TV.
