The Walt Disney Co. announced Tuesday the promotion of chief financial officer Richard Nanula from senior veepee to executive veepee.
Nanula joined Disney eight years ago as senior planning analyst and rose to the position of VP/treasurer in 1989.
He was appointed chief financial officer in 1991.
Disney president Frank G. Wells said Nanula has recently initiated several “innovative financings and investment programs” for the company, including the $ 300 million issue of 100-year bonds and the development of programs to raise $ 1 billion in Walt Disney Studios movie financing.
Earlier, Nanula was involved in the acquisitions of Wrather Corp. and Childcraft Education Corp.
In moving up from corporate senior veepee, Nanula joins other Walt Disney Co. corporate executive veepees Lawrence P. Murphy, Sanford M. Litvack and Joe Shapiro.
