This gloomy urban thriller, filmed mostly at night, is about a couple of malcontents who harass a yuppie couple. Sluggish yarn looks unlikely to spark interest outside its home turf.
A policeman, Harjunpaa, and his female partner investigate the persecution, which mostly takes the form of ordering unwanted deliveries to the home of the couple, such as a huge pile of coal, which is dumped on their cherished rose garden. The constant worry eventually drives the yuppie husband off his rocker, and dour tale ends with a couple of suicides.
It’s hard to get engrossed in these basically uninteresting characters. Direction is flat, pacing slow. Otherwise, credits are OK.
