The Writers Guild of America has announced a deal that will cover development and production of Interfilm’s interactive features. The pix, called “cinematic games” by Interfilm, will be released to retrofitted theaters. The interactive company will also release enhanced versions of the games for play on home platforms. The WGA apparently modified its normal contract to accommodate the $ 1 million budgets that each pic will have, though details were not released. Calling the pact the first of its kind to cover interactive programs, WGA exec director Brian Walton said, “This agreement sends the message to this fast-growing new industry that the WGA is open for business in the new technologies.”
