Society salutes soundman Murch

Walter Murch, an Academy Award-winning rerecording mixer and sound designer, will receive the Cinema Audio Society’s Life Achievement Award at the group’s 30 th anniversary awards banquet on March 5 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel. Murch, a longtime collaborator with Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas, worked on “Apocalypse Now,””Ghost,””The Godfather Part II” and “The Unbearable Lightness of Being.”
