Universal’s “The War,” directed by Jon Avnet and starring Elijah Wood and Kevin Costner, has wrapped principal photography. The film is an Avnet/Kerner production of an Island World/Pipeline picture.

It was scripted by Kathy McWorter and filmed in Senoia, Georgia, with some exteriors shot in Beaufort, S.C.

The Motion Picture Assn. of America has upped Paul Egge to VP of information services. He will oversee all computer and telecommunications operations for the trade org. Egge, who has also developed software for the MPAA and its international arm, the MPEAA, had been director of the department.

CBS Hispanic Radio Network is expected to announce that it is changing its name to CBS Americas to take note of the wide range of Spanish-language listeners in the U.S., Central and South America. The Spanishlanguage radio network also will announce that it is joining with United Press Intl. to provide hourly newscasts in Spanish beginning June 27.
