‘Schindler’s’ 13 noms top Brit Academy list

“Schindler’s List,” a contender for 12 Oscars, has been nominated for 13 awards by the British Academy of Film & Television Arts, including best picture and an acting nom for Liam Neeson.

The Steven Spielberg pic will be up against “The Piano,””The Remains of the Day” and “Shadowlands” for top film.

The British Academy, celebrating its 26th year, will present 58 awards for film and TV programs seen in 1993 in the areas of craft, production and performance.

Nominations for the film performance awards, which will be handed out April 24 in London, were unveiled last week. Following is a list of the main film nominations.
