Rose to host N.Y. DGA awards

Talkshow host Charlie Rose has signed on to emcee the Gotham portion of the Directors Guild of America’s 46th annual awards dinner for outstanding motion picture, TV and ad production in 1993.

Rose, an Emmy and Peabody award winner for his PBS chatshow, will host the helmer gala from New York’s Supper Club at 7:30 p.m. on March 5.

Presentations are skedded in L.A. for the same night at a banquet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Nominees for the DGA outstanding helmer award are: Jane Campion for “The Piano,” Andrew Davis for “The Fugitive,” James Ivory for “The Remains of the Day ,” Martin Scorsese for “The Age of Innocence” and Steven Spielberg for “Schindler’s List.”
