The final round of nomination ballots for the 66th Academy Awards are to be sent to Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences members Friday.
The last mailing targets members who live in California and comprise the vast majority of the organization’s voting members.
AMPAS preferential balloting procedures remain unchanged since 1955. Members of Academy branches generally select no more than five nominees (three in select instances) from their craft or technical area in the determination of the final ballot. In some categories, screening committees comprising members from all branches determine the nominees.
General polling closes Jan. 27 with the list of nominees to be announced Feb. 9. The Awards will be presented on March 21.
