Orion Pictures, in another move to raise itself from the bankrupt dead, has promoted four to veepee positions.
The struggling studio named Timothy Campbell veep of contract accounting, Joseph Colleran veep of corporate audit and special projects, Gita D. Sargrad veep for biz and legal affairs and worldwide distribution, and Scott Mandell veep of post-production for Orion Pictures Distribution Corp.
Campbell has been director of producer accounting since 1990. Colleran was formerly director of corporate audit.
Sargrad has been director of biz and legal affairs since 1992. Mandell is a 15-year veteran of the company.
The promotions are further indication of Orion’s desire to revive since emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1992. The studio recently signed its first multipic distrib deal since emerging. The deal with Renascence Films will give Orion up to 10 films for distribution over the next 18 months, four of them by year’s end.
