Old hands rejoin Stevens for AFI Nicholson tribute

Writer/producer George Stevens Jr. has enlisted heavily from past associates for the production team of the March 3 American Film Institute Life Achievement salute to Jack Nicholson. Bob Shrum, who co-wrote the 1991 tribute to Kirk Douglas, will collaborate with Stevens for the 22nd edition.

Louis J. Horvitz will mark his fifth outing as director of the televised event and Michael B. Seligman will be in for the 18th consecutive year as the program’s associate producer. Film sequences are being produced by editor Catherine Shields for the 11th year while Jackie Frame will coordinate the dinner for the 20th time.

Nicholson is the first recipient of the award since the 1993 amendment to include men and women with “active careers” and work of “significance yet to accomplish.”
