The MGM/UA-based Jacobs/Gardner Prods. has tapped Amanda Nelligan for the newly created development VP slot, the studio said Monday.
“We appreciate the confidence that MGM has expressed in encouraging and endorsing our expansion at this time,” Jacobs said in a release.
Katie Jacobs and Pierce Gardner, whose outfit has an exclusive deal with the studio, recently completed work on “Getting Even With Dad,” starring Macaulay Culkin and Ted Danson.
Directed by Howard Deutch from an original script by Tom S. Parker and Jim Jennewein, “Dad” will — appropriately enough — be rolled out on Father’s Day in June.
Nelligan was development director for Barry Levinson and Mark Johnson’s Baltimore Pictures for three years, where she worked on such pix as “Sniper” and the upcoming “Convenience” and “A Little Princess.”
Nelligan also held spots at Walt Disney/Touchstone Pictures, where she worked on titles including “The Doctor” and “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken.”
