LaPaglia inked for Ephron pic

Anthony LaPaglia, who co-starred in “One Good Cop” and “So I Married an Axe Murderer,” has been set to star as the artist boyfriend of Juliette Lewis in TriStar’s upcoming as-yet untitled Nora Ephron comedy starring Steve Martin.

The film, about a do-gooder who operates a suicide hotline that’s about to be shut down on Christmas Eve, is currently in production.

LaPaglia, who also appears in the upcoming Warner Bros. film “The Client,” opposite Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones, is a former elementary school teacher from Australia who turned to acting. He was nominated for a CableAce award for his work in the HBO telefilm “Criminal Justice” and starred as Stevie Dee in the Alan Alda comedy “Betsy’s Wedding.”
