L.A. gov’t film pair head East

Pushing their mandate to keep the cameras rolling in sunny L.A., the city and county film offices will jointly attend the ShowBiz Expo East in Gotham this week to try and drum up some business.

Showing approach

Cody Cluff, chief of the Mayor’s Office of Entertainment Industry Affairs, said he would travel to Gotham with Stephanie Liner, director of the County Film Office, to show off their new coordinated approach to production issues in Los Angeles.

“We can no longer sit back and watch the entertainment industry leave Los Angeles,” Cluff said in a statement.

“We would like to extend our efforts to other states and countries and enable Los Angeles to be competitive on an international level for production activities.”

Cluff said he hoped the New York jaunt would attract a new crowd of filmmakers back to L.A.

“People want to film in L.A. and we’re going to show them just how easy it is ,” he said.
