The crafts unions and the producers squared off at their quarterly meeting in Palm Springs Wednesday over the contentious contract issue of pilots vs. movies of the week, sources said.

The two battling orgs — Intl.

Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers — met to hash out carryover problems from the freshly inked labor pact they agreed to in January.

According to sources in Palm Springs, the IATSE is upset that the producers want to treat TV series pilots with the same contract concessions that the unions agreed to for MOWs.

Neither side would comment on the talks.

The IATSE agreed to a host of concessions in bargaining for MOWs with the hope that producers would stop using non-union labor outside of Los Angeles to complete their pix.

The meetings conclude today.
