Feature cutters Gene Ruggiero and Dede Allen are this year’s recipients of the American Cinema Editors’ Career Achievement awards, the ACE said Tuesday.
Allen, a creative exec at Warner Bros., received Oscar nominations for “Reds” and “Dog Day Afternoon.”
Other credits include “The Hustler,””Bonnie and Clyde,””Serpico,””Little Big Man” and “The Addams Family.”
Ruggiero, a 31-year vet of MGM, took home an Oscar for “Around the World in 80 Days” and was nominated for “Oklahoma!” Other features he edited include “The Great Caruso,””Toast of New Orleans,””The Big Clock” and Greta Garbo’s “Ninotchka.”
The awards, which will be presented at a banquet at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel March 12, are co-sponsored by Laser Pacific Media Corp., Lightworks USA and Echo Film Services.
Helmer Martin Scorsese has also been tabbed to receive a Golden Eddie Award for his career contribution to film.
