Boyle-Taylor Prods. confirmed Tuesday that Christopher A. Cuddihy has been named vice president.

Cuddihy is a relative newcomer to the Hollywood shuffle.

An Off Broadway actor and producer of the 1993 independent film “Blessing,” the 36-year-old Cuddihy moved from Manhattanto Los Angeles last summer to further his career as a movie producer.

Last year, Cuddihy volunteered time as a reader for such producers as Arnold Kopelson before landing at Boyle-Taylor on an informal basis late in 1993.

Company partner Barbara Boyle said Cuddihy’s solid contributions to Boyle-Taylor Prods. led to his official promotion to corporate veep after just four months. Cuddihy will participate in developing, packaging and financing major and independent films.

Cuddihy will be involved in developing “Bottle Rocket,” which company partners Boyle and Michael Taylor will exec produce for Columbia Pictures in association with Cynthia Hargrave and Gracie Films toppers James L. Brooks and Polly Platt.

Other projects on the front burner are screenwriter David Shaber’s genetic engineering thriller “Forbidden Sequence,” which is being developed in partnership with Gary Bart, and an adaptation of the life story of fugitive Katherine Ann Power.
