Creation Entertainment pacts for Bond licensing

Creation Entertainment, a Glendale-based entertainment marketing outfit, announced an agreement with Eon Prods. Ltd. of London to license the James Bond films and characters on a wide range of merchandise.

This will include merchandise sold through comic-book stores, video stores and home shopping venues, according to Tuesday’s announcement.

Apparel, antiques, jewelry and art repro are also included.

The first Creation-made Bond merchandise will be on the market by mid-March. In addition, Creation also will develop official Bond fan clubs in the U.S. and Britain.

Creation has been producing specialized marketing events for 20 years. Every year, an estimated 400,000 trekkies attend more than 140 sci-fi and “Star Trek” powwows in the U.S. and Canada.

The next James Bond feature is in early development stages at United Artists and is tentatively slated for summer 1995 rollout.
