Columbia Pictures said Friday that it has promoted Stephanie Allain to the post of senior veepee of production, bumping her up anotch from her veepee of production role.
Allain was one of a handful of production executives coming up for contract renewal at the studio. Announcement of her promotion was made by studio president of production Lisa Henson, to whom Allain reports.
A six-year veteran of Columbia, Allain has worked with such emerging filmmakers as John Singleton, Robert Rodriguez, Darnell Martin and Ted Demme.
Allain joined the studio as a story analyst, becoming a creative exec in 1989 and production VP in 1990. She had been a story analyst at Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox and Creative Artists Agency.
