Castle Rock, Weinstock pact

Castle Rock Entertainment has pacted with Chuck Weinstock for a first-look feature film deal, signaling the company’s gearing-up of production partners.

“We are really happy to have someone of Chuck’s sensibilities on our team, and I look forward to a creative and productive future,” said Liz Glotzer, president of production for Castle Rock.

Weinstock has tapped Peggy Pierce as director of development, and is set to produce “Frolic and Detour,” a legal thriller scripted by Dan Gilroy.

Previously, Weinstock was VP of production for Stillwater Prods., Kiefer Sutherland’s film banner at 20th Century Fox. Weinstock served as executive producer on “Last Light,” which Sutherland starred in and directed for the Showtime network.

Castle Rock’s upcoming slate includes “City Slickers 2” and “North,” both set for summer releases through its deal with Columbia Pictures.
