A Swiss judge wants to charge an ex-chairman of Credit Lyonnais in the bankruptcy of a Swiss company that helped buy MGM, an attorney for the bank said Tuesday.
The judge wants to charge Jean-Yves Haberer and a current exec, Francois Gille, in connection with the bankruptcy of Sasea Holding SA, said attorney Dominique Poncet.
Speaking via phone from Geneva, Poncet said Swiss Judge Jean-Louis Crochet must first find a corresponding French judge to serve the two with the charges because he has no jurisdiction in France.
Poncet said the Swiss judge believes Credit Lyonnais, which had $ 800 million of exposure to Sasea and its affiliates, heavily influenced Sasea’s operations.
Sasea’s former chairman Florio Fiorini, who is in jail in Switzerland, was a partner of Giancarlo Parretti.
