Quake relief lines set

Federal and state agencies have established telephone lines for people needing assistance from the Northridge quake.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the California Office of Emergency Services have made available additional phone lines that promise to cut down on the busy signals and long waits for quake victims seeking information or aid.

For assistance not provided by individual insurance companies, people should visit a Disaster Application Center or call (800) 462-9029 to apply for state and federal service over the phone.
