IATSE strikes 3 new deals

After prompting work stoppages on a movie-of-the-week and an ABC series currently in production, the IATSE has signed three new TV projects to union contracts.

Guild pact

The union signed movie of the week “Deadly Games” to a guild pact Jan. 24 after the shooting crew struck for about an hour over wages and work conditions.

The crew on ABC’s “My So Called Life” also stopped working after the producers wereunable to come to terms with IA representatives.

The walkout lasted 15 minutes Jan. 28 before the producers recognized the union.

Another potential strike was averted on “Hart to Hart” after producers Papazian-Hirsch reached an agreement with the IA on Tuesday.

All three signings are in keeping with the union’s pledge, after its recent contract agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, to more aggressively organize MOWs and episodic television projects.
