Showscan Corp. said Charles B. Moss Jr. and Thomas DiBenedetto, both directors and shareholders, bought a total of 350,000 Showscan common shares from a trust established by Henry Plitt, late chairman of the company. A Showscan spokeswoman said each of the men bought 175,000 shares in transactions of equal value, giving each a 10% stake in the company.
The spokeswoman said the shares were bought at prices ranging from $ 4 to $ 7 in the transaction, which involved the early exercising of certain options.

The Tribune Co. said Monday it expects to record an after-tax second-quarter gain of about $ 13 million, or $ 0.19 a share, from the Thursday sale of 5.5 million shares of QUNO, a Canadian paper company. Tribune retains 7.5 million shares of QUNO’s 22 million common shares outstanding and also holds a $ 138.8 million (face value) subordinated debenture, convertible into 11.7 million voting common shares of QUNO.
