Vidmark Entertainment will spend more than $ 2 million promoting “Thunder in Paradise,” creating what the company believes is the largest independent homevideo promotion.
The company has tied the title to cross-promotions with the Wendy’s and Taco Bell chains, and will advertise the release via Fox Broadcasting through its 4 million-member Kids Club.
The action-comedy starring Hulk Hogan and a pumped-up Chris Lemmon also contains a PSA for the Make a Wish Foundation at the beginning of the tape. The street date is Sept. 22.
Vidmark also unveiled its ambitious slate of 11 films to be released in the coming months, including the return of Andrew Dice Clay to the big screen in “Brain Smashers.”
Charlie Sheen, Nicolas Cage and James Coburn team up in the thriller “Deadfall,” Christopher Walken and Jennifer Beals star in “Day of Atonement” and Lou Diamond Phillips makes his directorial debut in “Dangerous Curves.’
The company also will release franchise properties “Death Wish 5,””Return of the Living Dead 3” and “Warlock: The Armageddon.”
