‘Untouchables’ boosts ratings for time period

The two-hour premiere of Paramount’s new firstrun syndie series “The Untouchables,” which garnered mixed reviews, fired off a respectable 7.1 rating/ 10 share in eight metered markets during its first two days.

Although not the blockbuster numbers achieved by Par’s “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” in its debut last week, the revival of the good vs. evil action hour outdelivered November1992 time periods by an average of 57% in household share in Arbitron (11 vs. 7) and 43% in Nielsen (10 vs. 7).

On WGN-TV in Chicago, where the series is based, “The Untouchables” earned a 9.7/14 in Arbitron, a 27% improvement for the same period during the November 1992 sweeps.
