Warner Bros. TV prez Leslie Moonves will be honored as executive of the year by the Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors Sunday at the organization’s annual awards dinner.

This is only the fourth time the award has been presented in the org’s 22 years, with Ted Turner, Jack Valenti and Bob Daly the previous recipients.

Don Mischer, who recently exec produced the Primetime Emmy Awards, has been tapped to produce opening and closing ceremonies for the 1996 Summer Olympics from Atlanta. Mischer Prods. will open an Atlanta office in first quarter ’95 to prepare for the event.

ABC has renewed the weekly latenight series “ABC in Concert” through 1994. Show’s exec producer is David Saltz.

Barry Thurston, president of Columbia Pictures TV Distribution, was elected to the Television Bureau of Advertising’s board of directors.
