Sheehan may shift to KCBS

KNBC-TV entertainment reporter David Sheehan may be headed for KCBS-TV if he is able to get out of his contract.

Bill Applegate, general manager of the CBS O&O, said he would like to get his old friend over to the station.

Sheehan, who worked at KCBS before moving to KNBC in 1984, and KNBC news director Mark Hoffman are at odds because Hoffman wants Sheehan to report rather than do movie and music reviews.

Hoffman reportedly has told Sheehan, who is under contract, that he can leave if he isn’t happy.

Applegate said he is waiting to see if KNBC will really let Sheehan out of his pact.
