WESTCHESTER, Pa. — In addition to its second shopping service Q2, QVC next spring will launch “On Q” for younger people.
The company said On Q will initially run during weekdays and replaces “The Fashion Channel.”
QVC said On Q will focus on current trends and, in addition to adult and children’s clothing, will offer accessories, jewelry, cosmetics and other items.
A spokesman said Q2 and On Q will share the same channel.
Q2, announced last summer, “will be an electronic greenhouse for a series of independent services, that will be spun off as distinctive channels, as technology and the market permits.”
The company said Q2 is scheduled to begin service on weekends late next spring, “targeting busy, active people who want information and products to make the most of their leisure time.”
QVC said Q2 will offer products in sports, health and beauty, family life, the home, entertainment, style and travel.
QVC said it also will design new services around whole product categories such as cooking, sports, parenting and travel. The company said each category can be developed into full-fledged channels.
The company said its approach “will lay the groundwork for the imminent reality of 500 channels, as well as the future world of interactivity.”
