Producer ankles ‘Color’

Tamara Rawitt has resigned as producer of the Fox Broadcasting Co. series “In Living Color,” she confirmed, following last month’s departure of exec producer Keenen Ivory Wayans.

At the time of Wayans’ exit Fox said Rawitt would remain with the series, now being run by former co-producers Greg Fields, Les Firestein and Pam Veasey.

Reached Friday at offices off the Fox lot, Rawitt said she’s currently working on a special for the weblet in addition to developing an unspecified sitcom project for another network.

Though some other cast members may join Wayans in leaving the skitcom, Fox said on Friday that it viewed the show as a long-term franchise and will feature more guest stars on it in the future.

Rawitt had been with Wayans since 1989, when she produced his low-budgeted feature “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.” Prior to that she served as a production executive at United Artists and Vestron and, from 1985-87, was VP in charge of production for Eddie Murphy Prods.
