Fox Broadcasting Co. senior VP of affiliates Preston Padden and Fox TV Stations VP of corporate and legal affairs Molly Pauker have taken on additional responsibilities at News Corp., the parent company of Fox Inc.
Padden and Pauker will serve as senior VP and VP, respectively, of governmental relations at News Corp., though both will still be primarily responsible for their existing duties with the program service and stations division.
In a statement, Fox Inc. and News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch said the announcements were in recognition of the work the pair have done representing Fox in Washington — acting as the point people on issues such as the cable bill and the financial interest and syndication rules — and not a change in responsibilities.
Padden joined Fox in his current capacity in November 1989 after serving as president of the Assn. of Independent Television Stations (INTV), while Pauker came to Fox in March 1990 after serving as Washington counsel for NBC.
