New World Entertainment and Conduit Communications have launched a joint venture that will develop and produce programming for New World’s affiliated companies — the SCI Television stations and distributor Genesis Entertainment.
The initial focus of the new company will be the development of a kids educational series that will be a mixture of live action and animation.
Conduit/New World will be based in Atlanta, with production management offices in L.A. and New York. Ira Miskin, president of programming and production for Conduit, and Farrell Reynolds, president of creative development, will head the operation.
Reynolds was also recently named head of New World Sales and Marketing (Daily Variety, Dec. 10).
That company will serve as an in-house rep firm for the SCI TV stations. Additionally, it will sell barter time for such firstrun Genesis series as “Real Stories of the Highway Patrol,””Biker Mice from Mars” and “Emergency Call,” beginning in the fall.
