Recently named GGP prez Bob Horowitz has appointed Hillary Mandel as head of sales for the San Francisco-based GGP production/syndication company.

Mandel will fill the spot that was left vacant by Horowitz’s promotion from VP and general manager.

She has been upped from director to VP of acquisitions and distribution.

In addition to overseeing the sales force, Mandel’s role in program development, cable, homevideo and the international arenas has been expanded.

Among her first hires, Mandel, who will continue to be based in New York, has recruited Sam Peck as director of Midwest syndication sales for GGP. He formerly served as director of Midwest sales for ITC Entertainment.

She also named Michael Kantor, previously an account exec with Network Ventures in New York, as a San Francisco-based account exec for the company.
