Levinson inks MGM TV deal

Former MGM exec Ron Levinson has entered into a first-look TV and feature production deal at the studio.

Levinson recently produced the NBC vidpic “In the Arms of a Killer,” starring Jaclyn Smith, and will develop projects for the networks, syndication and the international arena.

He joined MGM in 1986 as VP, current programming, overseeing such projects as “thirtysomething” and “In the Heat of the Night,” and subsequently served as VP of TV development.

MGM’s streamlined TV operation still produces “In the Heat of the Night” plus the upcoming “Pink Panther” animated series.
