Veteran talkshow producer Bonnie Kaplan has temporarily taken over the reins of Twentieth TV’s “Bertice Berry Show.”
Kaplan, who specializes in syndication launches, will serve as the show’s exec producer through the first November sweeps period.
She will then return to the executive consultant position she has held during the show’s pre-production stage, according to Peter Marino, exec VP of programming and development for Twentieth.
The new exec producer takes over for the departing Steve Clements, who Marino said has fulfilled his obligation to the show by getting production up and running. Clements, who was in charge through the first two sets of run-throughs, intends to return to his L.A. production company.
Kaplan has a long track record in talk, having begun as a producer at ABC-owned WLS-TV in Chi.
Twentieth also announced Thursday that Sol Feldman has been upped to senior producer on “Berry,” which will be produced at WTTW’s National TV Production Center in Chi. “Berry” has been licensed in more than 120 markets covering 92% of the country.
