Johnson, CBS ink series pact

Anne-Marie Johnson, in her sixth and final season on the MGM drama “In the Heat of the Night,” has entered into an exclusive holding deal with CBS to star in a new half-hour comedy series.

Prior to “Heat,” which moved to CBS this season, Johnson has appeared in the series “What’s Happening Now” and “Hill Street Blues” as well as the features “Strictly Business,””Hollywood Shuffle” and “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.”
