CBS has picked up an additional 13 episodes of the Lorimar TV reality series “How’d They Do That?” the network confirmed.

The web wouldn’t say whether all those episodes will be held for next fall or if some will continue airing into the summer.

CBS previously punched up an additional three segs in order to keep it going through the May sweeps.

“How’d They Do That?” is produced by LMNO Prods. and Warner Bros. reality unit Telepictures Prods. in association with Lorimar. It has averaged an 11.3 rating/18 share in Nielsen since premiering March 9.

The numbers are CBS’ best with regular programming in the 8 o’clock hour Wednesday since “Mike Hammer” in 1986-87. Numbers are also up 30% over CBS’ average with the slot’s two most recent occupants, “The Hat Squad” and “Space Rangers.”

CBS may be inclined to keep its current Wednesday lineup intact next fall, with “How’d They Do That?” leading into “In the Heat of the Night” and the newsmagazine “48 Hours.”
