Gallic web feat: d’Ors aplenty

Outgoing France 2 and France 3 president Herve Bourges got a mighty send-off Tuesday as the French public service dominated the seventh d’Or Awards, France’s top TV honors.

France 2 picked up 12 trophies, comfortably ahead of private TF1’s five.

The evening was also a triumph for producer Pierre Grimblat. His Hamster Production Co. won five awards, including best actor (Gerard Klein) in a telefilm series and best series for summer ratings winner “Le Chateau des Oliviers.”

Best actress went to Brigitte Fossey for her lead in “Le Chateau des Oliviers”– the story of one woman’s struggle to save her ancestral home.

Jean-Marie Cavada, who discovered Monday that he had not been chosen to take over the presidency of France 2 and France 3, won best current affairs show and best presenter for “La Marche du Siecle.”
