Computer misfire at KTLA

KTLA-TV’s Sunday night newscast was delayed due to computer failure.

The Los Angeles station’s primary computer malfunctioned about 8:45 p.m., preventing printing of scripts and causing other problems that delayed the station’s regular 10 p.m. broadcast, said director of engineering Ira Goldstone.

Equipment was fixed by 10 p.m. and the news program rescheduled its broadcast for 11 p.m., he said.

The delay was the first in the station’s history, Goldstone said.
