China TV bows satcast b’cast

China Television Ltd. announced that it intends to launch a 24-hour satellite TV news service next year.

Hong Kong’s dominant broadcaster, Television Broadcasts, launched its own satellite service earlier this year.

China Television also plans to offer at least one other channel.

Target markets include Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, North America, Europe and Australia.
