C-SPAN viewership is up 80% since 1988, according to a new study.
The survey by Statistical Research Inc. of Westfield, N.J., said 58.5 million viewers watched the cable public-affairs web in 1992, compared to 32.5 million in 1988.
35% subs increase
During the four years, C-SPAN’s subscriber growth increased 35%, from 43 million to 58 million homes, per the study.
“We don’t know how many people are watching at any given moment,” said C-SPAN honcho Brian Lamb, “but we can see that more people are watching and that we are having an effect on their political decision-making. That’s why C-SPAN is here.”
