Bostoncasters hold retrans meet

Four Boston broadcast outlets held a public meeting with members of community cable advisory and oversight boards in order to present their side of the story on retransmission consent.

To make sure there was no violation of antitrust laws, an attorney was present.

Group W’s NBC affil, WBZ-TV, hosted the event, with general manager Deb Zeyen and station manager Ed Goldman on hand. Joining them were program director Jim Byrne from Fox affil WFXT-TV; program director Meg LeVigne and assistant g.m. Stu Tauber from indie WSBK-TV; and G.M. Peter Temple from indie WLVI-TV.

Not sending representatives were ABC affil WCVB-TV, whose owners, Hearst Corp., are handling negotiations, and CBS affil WHDH-TV.
