Wolfe to partner at Michaels firm

Former Levine/Schneider Public Relations senior account executive Staci Wolfe has ankled the firm to enter into partnership with Eddie Michaels & Associates.

Clients electing to follow Wolfe to the renamed Michaels & WolfeInc. shingle include Tim Roth, Peter Onorati, Edward Furlong, Sandra Bullock, Michelle Forbes , Jason Scott Lee and the directing brothers Allen and Albert Hughes.

Levine/Schneider partner Michael Levine said Wolfe had an employment agreement with the firm when she left.

‘Reviewing legal options’

“We are now reviewing our legal options,” Levine said. “Whatever we decide to do legally, at best what she did was highly ethically questionable.”

Wolfe said for Levine “to resort to this type of mudslinging seems to me to be obvious distress and concern about the competition.” She said “clearly I didn’t do anything unethical,” but declined further comment because she did not know the specifics of Levine’s charges. Levine would not elaborate further on Wolfe.

A Priestley booster

The addition of Wolfe to EMA comes just seven months after Michaels left Freeman & Sutton Michaels Saltzman & Associates to form his own company, which is based in Beverly Hills and focuses on representing talent and selected TV and movie vehicles (Daily Variety, May 6).

Michaels said Wolfe’s addition was made because “it was one of those situations that presented a great opportunity.” A key player in the early career of “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Jason Priestley, Michaels currently represents such clients as Lou Diamond Phillips, Lisa Bonet, Dana Ashbrook, Peter Berg, Patricia Heaton and Jay Ferguson.

‘Edge factor’

Wolfe said the emphasis at Michaels & Wolfe will be to build the careers of young Hollywood talent.

“I originally got into this business to keep the edge factor going,” Wolfe said. “There’s nothing I’d rather do.” Indeed, the Michaels & Wolfe partners are young themselves — Wolfe is 25, Michaels is 28.

A communications graduate from USC, Wolfe started at Levine/Schneider roughly three years ago as an intern. She had been a senior account executive at Levine/Schneider for more than a year.
