Uptown Entertainment yesterday appointed Mark Siegel executive VP and general manager, responsible for the daily operation of the company’s record, film and television divisions.

The company, founded by CEO Andre Harrell, is best known as the home of rapper Heavy D, but recently pacted with MCA Music Entertainment Group to expand into other fields.

Siegel was previously at Intl. Creative Management, where he exited as VP of its concert division.

In another appointment, Lyah LeFlore was appointed director of East Coast television and film development for Uptown Entertainment. She is responsible for project development and introducing new writing talent, particularly minority writers, to the industry.
