Mary Duncan Sanford

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Mary Duncan Sanford, a former actress and Palm Beach socialite, died May 9.

She was 98.

Sanford, widow of the polo player Stephen “Laddie” Sanford, appeared in the lead role in “Shanghai Gesture” on Broadway.

Later, she co-starred with Marion Davies in 1931’s “Five and Ten.” She is survived by a niece and a grandniece.
