Kenny Drew, 64, American-born jazz pianist who helped turn Copenhagen into a European jazz center, died Aug. 4 in Copenhagen.
The cause of death was not immediately known.
Drew settled in Denmark in 1964 and became the house pianist at the Copenhagen Montmartre jazz club.
He played regularly through the 1980s and made his last recordings –“Fantasia” and “Moonlit Desert”– with Orsted Pedersen. Earlier this year Drew won the Palae Bar Prize, a Danish jazz award.
