Jennifer Howard Coleman

Jennifer Howard Coleman, actress and mother of Paramount Motion Picture Group production president John Goldwyn and actor Tony Goldwyn, died Dec. 14 of lung cancer in Los Angeles. She was 68.

She was the daughter of playwright and screenwriter Sidney Howard (“Gone With the Wind”) and actress Claire Eames.

Coleman was an early member of the Actors Studio and worked extensively with Orson Welles in his legit productions overseas.

She appeared in films such as “Return to Peyton Place,””All Fall Down,””The Chapman Report” and “House of Women.” On TV, she guested in “The Twilight Zone” and “Perry Mason.”

In 1950, she married producer Samuel Goldwyn Jr. In addition to John and Tony , survivors include son Francis Goldwyn and daughter Catherine Howard Goldwyn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the John Wayne Cancer Center, St. John’s Hospital, Santa Monica.
